DESCRIPTION:CSLOT’s Adventure Camp supports children in learning teamwork\, social communication\, and problems-solving skills in a group with their peers. \nCampers meet to engage in a variety of camp activities\, including puzzle solving\, meal and snack prep\, water games\, creating stories and videos\, and scavenger hunts! \n\nWho\nChildren ages 5 to 7 – Tuesdays and Thursdays\, 9:00 am – 11:00 am \nChildren ages 8 to 10 – Mondays and Wednesday\, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm \nWhen\nWeek One- July 9-13 \nWeek Two – July 16-20 \nWeek Three – July 23-27 \nWeek Four – July 30-August 3 \nCamp Size\nAdventure Camp is a small group of 2 to 4 children.  This allows for lots of personalized attention for each camper. \nCamp Leaders\nAdventure Camp is lead by a licensed speech-language pathologist or occupational therapist. \nCost\n$300 per week.  A camper may participate in any one\, or up to all four weeks of camp. \nSign up\nTo sign up for Adventure Camp\, call the Los Altos office to get started. \nDownload Adventure Camp Flyer\nClick here

DESCRIPTION:The goal of our Read-a-thon is to help children and adults become better readers and better learners by nurturing a joy of reading. \n  \nWhat is it?\nCSLOT’s Read-a-thon is a literacy event. The goal of our Read-a-thon is to help children and adults become better readers and better learners by nurturing a joy of reading. This is an annual reading motivation and awareness initiative that calls for all children in our community to celebrate reading through the month of February. The Read-a-thon will end with a celebration of our reading success on March 2\, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. \nWhen is it?\nCSLOT is holding the Read-a-thon from Tuesday\, February 6 – Friday\, February 23\, celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday and the national celebration of Read Across America the following week\, Monday\, February 26 – Friday\, March 2. \nWhere is it?\n Clients agree to read every day and keep track of what they’ve read and/or minutes read by filling in their individual Reading Logs either at home or in the waiting room. Parents\, teachers or caregivers initial the Reading Log to verify what the child has read. Reading takes place at school\, home\, and our waiting room. \nWho does it?\nRead-a-thon isn’t just for kids! Parents can participate too\, bringing us closer to our overall goal of 150 books read! As they read\, readers tally up their individual reading on their Reading Logs and turn in to their therapist the week of February 26th. The totals are brought together to create a grand total based on clinic-wide participation. \nHow are we going to celebrate?\nDuring the week of February 26th\, we will celebrate our clinic-wide grand total of books read by handing out Reading Achievement Certificates\, wearing Suess-inspired hats\, and sharing birthday cake! \nYour reading log\nGet your reading log in English here and in Spanish here. \nSuggested book list\nWhat a great list of books to read?  Here is a list in English and here is a list in Spanish.
